Assisting in providing the employer notices, obtaining and reviewing medical information, and addressing return to work.
Fair Labor Standards Act Compliance
Assistance in determining whether employees are exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. Determining compliance with the overtime and minimum wage provisions of the FLSA.
Unemployment Compensation Issues
Addressing issues such as “independent contractor” v. “employee” status and whether an employee was terminated “for cause.”

Determining whether the ACA applies and, if so, whether a business is in compliance with the Act.

Representing employers in arbitration proceedings where employment agreements required arbitration of claims.
Representing employers in court after the conclusion of EEOC and Missouri Commission on Human Rights Act processing of claims. Handling claims under the Equal Pay Act, COBRA, ERISA, the Public Health Services Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Missouri Human Rights Act as well as claims of wrongful discharge, retaliation, negligent hiring, negligent retention, and defamation.
